In America many teachers are turning to websites like Donor's Choose and Go Fund Me to get things they need for their classroom. Unfortunately Donor's Choose doesn't work in Canada, so I'm trying to get things the old fashioned way- begging my friends and family to help out!
If you've gotten here because of my Twitter account, my Youtube Channel, or my Instagram Feed, welcome! I would LOVE to have you partner with me and our kids to get some awesome things for our classroom!
If you are an advertising company wanting me to sponsor your client for a mention, remember that first and foremost I do this for the kids. If your product doesn't genuinely improve their learning directly, or indirectly by helping my ability to teach, I'm going to be honest in my review. I will also be 100% upfront anytime I'm given something to review. If that's cool, please reach out and let's talk!
A classroom today is so different than it was when I was growing up. It needs to be a space where kids learn facts and content, but also skills, social development, and frameworks for finding success in the world. To help my students achieve this, I spend a considerable amount of money on activities, games, field trips, and even food (because who cares what your math test grade is when you haven't eaten!).
Here is a link to my Amazon Wish List- Under each item is a description of why I think this would be a useful product for my classroom. I have used the Amazon.com website rather than the Canadian version because most of my family and friends live in the states. This means I have to get everything shipped to a PO Box service in Washington and I pay $3/package. If you could be so kind as to check off the "Group things into a single shipment" box at checkout, I would greatly appreciate it!

If you are from Canada and want to help out, I always need food and cleaning supplies. Purell, Clorox Wipes, granola bars, applesauce, goldfish, fruit gummies, fruit leather, etc etc.
I also need an electric Kettle! And if you are handy with carpentry, I'd like to get a small stage for the classroom! |
I also have an Ikea wishlist. It has lamps, stools, paper organizers, fake plants, and some rather large bookshelves that would take my classroom over the top to awesome-town!
I'm pretty sure you can send me an Ikea gift card even from the states, if you feel strongly about the pedagogy of educational environments. |
